Former Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran tells the Asia Society that the Osama bin Laden raid in Pakistan has given the United States ‘a huge amount of leverage.’ Speaking in New York, Saran said that Pakistan must have known of bin Laden’s whereabouts, and now the US must focus on a long-term vision for Pakistan. He was speaking ahead of the release of the Asia Society’s new Pakistan 2020 report, which will be launched in New York on May 18.
