As Myanmar prepares for an historic election, 18-year-old Moe Thae Khaing is ready to cast her first ballot.

After more than half-century of military rule, Myanmar is holding the freest elections it has in over 25 years. The upcoming November 8 general election should be a historic step in the country’s transition to democracy. The youth, in particular, hope that their country can remain on a peaceful path and not take steps back into military rule.
