Reports of violent attacks on Muslim and Christian minorities by Hindu nationalist groups appear frequently in Indian newspapers. In this video, The Diplomat seeks to explore what lies behind such attacks through an interview with a Hindu nationalist foot soldier, Aakash Bhatia, who claims to be a volunteer with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (World Hindu Council).

Bhatia, a student of astrology, shares his worldview in this video. While he does not necessarily reflect the official position of the numerous Hindu nationalist groups or political parties in India, his answers could reveal both the mind and the making of a Hindu nationalist.
