Kyu Seok Shim is a regular contributor to the Koreas section at The Diplomat.
His main focus is on the Korean peninsula, ranging from its foreign relations to social and economic issues, but particularly the domestic politics of the ROK. Kyu Seok is currently a research intern at the East-West Center in Washington. He received his B.A. from Columbia University and is currently attending a Master’s program at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington D.C. He plans to continue his studies by pursuing a doctorate in the field of political sociology.
