Dr. Rishi Gupta is an assistant director at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New Delhi.
Dr. Rishi Gupta is an assistant director at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New Delhi. He currently holds the position of the 2024 Taiwan Fellow at the Centre for India Studies, National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan. Additionally, he serves as a visiting fellow at the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) in Kathmandu, Nepal. He regularly teaches courses on India’s foreign policy and international relations at the University of Delhi. Previously, he was an exchange fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.
Before assuming his current roles, Dr. Gupta worked with the Vivekananda International Foundation, the Center for Air Power Studies, and Pondicherry University. He earned his Ph.D. from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, his MPhil in Foreign Policy Studies from the University of Calcutta in Kolkata, and his MA in South Asian Studies from Pondicherry University in Pondicherry.
His research interests include the Indo-Pacific, South Asian geopolitics and regional security, and Himalayan geopolitics.
