International students make important contributions to Australia’s economy, soft power, and – though it’s often overlooked – urban development.

A “whole-of-nation” approach to foreign policy would understand how each element of domestic policy is critical to enhancing the country’s overall capabilities and international power – including housing. 

For Australia to be a country that truly values its security, it needs to offer its young, and not-so young, adults the conditions for them to thrive.
