Afghanistan-Pakistan relations have been developing quickly, thanks to new faces in top positions and urgent (and complementary) needs to quell violence on each side. But with deep-seated mistrust in Afghanistan and uncertain commitment in Pakistan, can the relationship truly change? The Diplomat talks to Michael Kugelman, senior program associate for South Asia at the Woodrow Wilson Center, to find out.
