The Diplomat‘s Ankit Panda speaks with Anders Corr of Corr Analytics. Corr joined Kalayaan Atin Ito activists over the weekend as they traveled to Scarborough Shoal, which is disputed between China and the Philippines. (China seized the shoal in a highly publicized stand-off in 2012.) On the podcast, Corr describes the group’s encounter with Chinese Coast Guard ships and fishermen. Panda and Corr additionally discuss the Philippines’ broader approach to the South China Sea disputes as the country anticipates President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s inauguration later this month. (Listen to a recent episode of the podcast covering Rodrigo Duterte’s victory and likely foreign policy.)
