Casey Michel has worked as a journalist in both Eurasia and the United States, and is currently a graduate student at Columbia University’s Harriman Institute.

Casey Michel has worked as a journalist in both Eurasia and the United States, and recently received a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Harriman Institute, where he focused on political, security, and social developments in Eurasia. His writing on the region has appeared in Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The New Republic Al Jazeera, Slate, The Moscow Times, and RFE/RL, among others. He has also worked with International Crisis Group’s Central Asia office, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in northern Kazakhstan.
